Through our work—the co-design of context-led sites and their embedded programming—UNFOLD PROJECTS seeks to champion coexistence, complexity, and confidence in the messy middle. We are on a mission to foster deeper, more intentional, ongoing relationships between artists and their work, individuals and their communities, and people and the places they inhabit. We believe that regenerative beauty has the power to inspire broader change.
Regenerative design principles are our guide and compass, the undercurrent of our ethos as a whole. We are inspired and informed by them, aiming to work within the messy middle, with what already exists and could be. We prioritize natural, repurposed, and locally sourced materials. We interpret this type of work with a rigor that extends beyond the tangible. It is a necessary framework that pollinates all of our disciplines and dialogues.

Collaboration is our opportunity to cultivate connections that generate unexpected outcomes and solutions, as well as dialogues that stoke questions, partnerships, and relationships that generationally reverberate. Collaboration is our mechanism to build confidence to answer the question, What if?, together.

Our community is our platform––an expansive, kinetic ecosystem. Whether we are learning from and engaged with our collaborators, advisory panel, friends, or local partners, or with you (the public!), we see community not as isolated circles, but concentric, coexisting, interconnected webs constantly given space to unfold, ready to share, express, and exchange.

Stewardship is our daily practice, in both an environmental and community-centered sense. We strive to be a living model; a standard for radical generosity and expression via methodology. Our work serves as a response to counter traditional land development, construction, demolition, and renovation practices. We are committed to acting with respect for what came before and to nurture a future that comes next. We strive to initiate and to be a contributor in a larger ripple effect.

These principles guide our unfolding across every project, informing each site we restore, every piece created, and every event hosted.
Our Guild is a collective of artists, designers, and craftspeople assembled to shape each Edition. With shared purpose, they contribute to the essence of our regenerative design direction, transforming materials with meaning and reinterpreting each space together.

With each Edition, our process restores the original site and architecture closely, tracing its history, surrounding ecology, and its unknown layers to envision its full potential. From our discoveries, we honor what came before and interweave it with place-based design, mindful craft, and responsible construction approaches to shape its next chapter.

Our Archive is a collection of works from our Editions and a living record of what our Guild can create with deconstructed, reclaimed, and natural materials. The Archive grows with each Edition and influences the Guilds to come.

Our Artist Residency gives artists the dedicated space, resources, and time to explore and rediscover aspects of their creative practice rooted in regenerative art and design.

Our Events welcome others into our way of thinking and creating. Through talks, exhibitions, and our workshop series, we aim to educate and inspire a more authentic and thoughtful approach towards a more regenerative future.
